  1. Be careful, residents! The federal government is restarting its free home COVID-19 testing program. According to information from the Town of Essex newsletter, “Each household can order up to four free rapid COVID tests from www.Covid.gov/tests. Additionally, before you can purchase ‘expired’ test kits you may already have at home, “Throw away, check the FDA website to see if the expiration date of your COVID-19 test kit has been extended.” (Essex city)
  2. Take a trip back in time this weekend at the 25th annual Connecticut Renaissance Faire. Immerse yourself in the past while creating unforgettable memories as you walk among the knights and princesses. The fair is being held this weekend through October 15 at the Lebanon Country Fairgrounds, 122 Mack Road, Lebanon, Connecticut. Admission is $16, with youth ages seven-15 $10 and children six and under free. There will be horse riding competitions, armored combat exhibitions and majestic flights of live birds on multiple stages throughout the fairgrounds, as well as a bustling market, delicious food and drinks and captivating performances by talented entertainers.
