Multiple gunshots were heard inside a Burger King outlet in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden late on Tuesday evening, killing one person, police officials said.
About 12-15 shots were fired, police said, adding that the assailants were yet to be identified. The victim is yet to be identified.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said, “An incident of firing has been reported at Burger King in Rajouri Garden, resulting in the death of one person… Officers and crime team are on the spot… More Teams have been formed to gather information and check CCTV cameras for clues.
A senior police officer said the incident took place around 9.42 pm on Tuesday when two groups came to the burger joint. There was a quarrel between them which escalated. Suddenly, armed men from both sides started firing at each other. One person was injured in the firing.
He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival, police said, adding that senior officials were present at the spot.
According to another police officer, the accused fled the spot soon after the incident on their two-wheelers which they had parked in the service lane near the outlet in J Block, Rajouri Garden.
Police said further investigation is underway.
