When launched in India, the sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB will compete with the recently unveiled BMW 5 Series LWB.
Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the all-new E-Class in India later this year and the German brand has confirmed that the luxury saloon will be offered in long-wheelbase form in the country. Ahead of the launch, the new sixth-generation E-Class has been spied on cameras in India.
Two test mules of the luxury sedan – one in black and the other in silver – were spotted at a yard in Pune. Like all locally assembled Mercedes, the upcoming E-Class will be rolled out via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits from the company's Chakan facility in Pune. The sixth-generation E-Class will make its global debut in April 2023.
2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Design
The sixth-generation E-Class features a redesigned front fascia with piano black finish around the single slat front grille, flanked by reprofiled LED headlamps on either side. The roofline has a sharp curve just ahead of the C pillar, giving the E-Class LWB a coupe-like profile. At the rear, the car features quad LED taillights with a unique star-shaped pattern for the brake lights.
Additionally, the rear bumper is equipped with chrome inserts around the faux exhaust vents. Other visual highlights include flush-fitting door handles and 18-inch dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels. Dimensions-wise, the new E-Class LWB measures 5,092 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,493 mm in height, while its wheelbase stands at 3,094 mm.
