Kushinagar, UP:

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly abducted in a moving vehicle and gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar earlier this month, police said. Three persons, all neighbors of the victim, were arrested on Monday.

According to the police, the incident took place on September 9 when the accused called the minor girl to clean the cow shelter. The victim wrote in her police complaint that the accused threatened her with a knife and took her to a hut before forcing her.

Later, two of her accomplices arrive at the scene, kidnap her, and rape her in a moving car. The three accused then threw him outside the cow shelter. After regaining consciousness, the girl managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal to her parents.

He claimed in his complaint that the Kapitanganj police station had not registered the FIR initially. An official complaint was filed only after the victim and her family approached senior officers for help.

“A case has been registered in the matter under relevant provisions and three accused have been arrested and sent to jail. Preliminary legal action is being taken,” Kushinagar district police said in a statement.
