A part of an under-construction bridge collapsed in Bihar's Arria today. The concrete bridge over the Bakra river, which was built at a cost of crores of rupees, collapsed within seconds.
The visual showed the bridge, over a fast-flowing river, tilted to one side and a crowd gathered on the bank near the bridge, recording the moment it collapsed.
There are no reports of injuries.
The bridge was built to facilitate travel between Karsa Kanta and Sakti in Arria district of Bihar. Built at a cost of Rs 12 crore, the bridge collapsed before its inauguration.
Sakti MLA Vijay Kumar told ANI, “The bridge collapsed due to the negligence of the owner of the construction company. We demand an inquiry from the administration.”

The collapsed part was washed away within seconds and people started running for safety. In another video, a few people stand dangerously close to the edge of the rest of the bride. While many people stand below it.
A large part of the collapsed section was built over the river. The part built on the banks of Bakra River is still intact.
In March this year, one person was killed and several others trapped when an under-construction bridge collapsed in Bihar's Spool. A bustling construction site near Maricha was reduced to a scene of chaos and destruction after the collapse in the early hours of the morning, prompting an urgent rescue effort by local authorities and volunteers.
According to reports, this bridge was being built over the Kosi River at a cost of Rs 984 crore. The incident bears an uncanny resemblance to the under-construction bridge collapse in Bihar's Bhagalpur, which sparked a war of words between the state government and the opposition BJP.
