A crocodile was seen strolling along the Maharashtra road after heavy rains.

People in Maharashtra's coastal Ratnagiri district were shocked when they saw a large crocodile strolling along the road after heavy rains.

In a video captured by a passenger sitting in a car, the reptile was seen roaming the road in chaplons. It is suspected to originate from the nearby Shiva River, which is home to many crocodiles.

Ratnagiri is known for crocodiles, one of the three species of crocodiles in India, apart from saltwater and gharial crocodiles.

Chaplon and other places in Ratnagiri district have been receiving continuous rain for the past few days.

The water level of the rivers in the district has also increased due to heavy rain.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain will continue till July 2 in Ratnagiri district.
