A man who raped a 16-year-old girl near Gurugram was sentenced to 20 years in prison

Gurugram:

A Gurugram court sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for raping a 16-year-old girl in 2020, police said on Monday.

He said that Additional Sessions Judge Ashwini Kumar's court also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on the accused.

According to the police, in the year 2020, a person filed a complaint at the Women's Police Station, Manesar, that her minor daughter was seduced and raped by her neighbor Kuldeep.

Based on the father's complaint, an FIR was registered under the Protection of Children Sexual Offenses Act and Kuldeep was arrested, police said.

He said that after arresting the accused, the police team thoroughly investigated the case and collected all the necessary evidence and witnesses against the accused and presented it in the court.

“Based on the chargesheet filed in the court and the evidence and witnesses collected by the Gurugram police, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashwini Kumar on Monday sentenced the accused to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000”. A spokesperson of Gurugram Police said this.
