A new police station will be built at Delhi's Bijwasan railway station.


Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the construction of a new police station at Bajwasan railway station, which will cater to a population of around 1.5 lakh people, Rajniwas officials said on Wednesday.

The police station is being constructed after realigning the pre-existing boundaries of the Delhi Cantonment Railway Station. “At present, there are 13 railway stations under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Cantonment Railway Police. However, after the creation of the new police station at Bajwasan, out of the 13 railway stations, three of them – Palam, Shahbaz Mohammadpur and Bajwasan, whose The total length is about 9 km – will come under its jurisdiction,” the official statement said.

Both railway police stations – Delhi Cantonment and Bajwasan – will function under the Old Delhi Railway Station sub-division, officials said, adding that manpower and other resources for the new police station would be met from the existing resources of the Delhi Police.
