A racket selling 'herbal pills' to enhance sexual health busted in Gurugram; 11 held.


Gurugram: gave Gurugram Police On Thursday, a fake call center in Sector 18 was raided and 11 people, including 4 women, were arrested for cheating people on the pretext of selling herbal medicines online to promote sexual health.

The accused used to post advertisements of such drugs on Google to target the victims. When the victims called the numbers given to them, they cheated them on the pretext of selling herbal medicines that they claimed helped to enhance sexual health.

They also duped people in the name of GST charges, parking charges and courier charges and collected money from victims through UPI and QR code.

After receiving reports of illegal call centers operating in Sector 18 for the past one year, the district police formed a special team under the supervision of ACP Vipan Alhawat.

The team raided the call center on Thursday, where 11 people were found calling the victims, who were taken into custody after questioning.

The callers admitted that they were working to sell sex enhancement pills.

“The accused received a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 as well as 5 per cent commission on the fraudulent amount,” he said.

Police said that seven mobile phones, SIM cards, two CPUs and other documents were seized from the call center.

The accused were produced before a local court which remanded them to police custody.
