Gurugram: A 23-year-old scrap dealer was allegedly shot dead in the city's Sector 61 on Friday night while he was drinking fruit juice in the market after going to the gym earlier, police said, adding that the man He was taken to a private hospital. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Investigators have identified the deceased as Anuj Singh, a resident of Sector 63 village Kadarpur.

As soon as he got out of the car, the men shot him. My son tried to escape. , but the assailants chased him and shot him again,” said the victim's father Ranbir Singh.

Kumar said that the deceased had a criminal background and had previously had three cases registered against him, including two cases of extortion which were registered at Sector 65 and Sector 56 police stations. A case of assault was also registered against him last year, police said. He previously worked as a bouncer in a club in Gurugram.

Police said the killing could be a result of business rivalry or related to Sohna's murder case involving her cousin who is in jail.

A case was registered against the two accused under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector 65 police station on Friday night.
