A woman who burned her husband for cheating was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Sindiaso Ndlovu, a 42-year-old woman from Maphisa, Kezi, Zimbabwe, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for murdering her husband for infidelity.

The Bulawayo High Court convicted Ndlovu under Section 47 of the Criminal Law Act Chapter 9:23.

According to a post by Zimbabwe's National Prosecution Authority, the incident took place on 19 October 2019, when Ndlovu set fire to her husband, Busani Ncube, after a heated argument about their extramarital affairs. In a fit of rage, he locked the bedroom door, poured gasoline on the Ncube, and set it on fire.

The police were notified, and Ndlovu was arrested. Ncube suffered severe burns and was initially treated at the Maphisa District Hospital before being transferred to the United Bulawayo Hospital, where he died on 8 January 2020, three months after the incident. Initially charged with attempted murder, Ndlovu's charges were changed to murder after Ncube's death. After a four-year trial, the court sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
