Lucknow, Oct 30 (PTI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that the BJP government has torn up democracy and the constitution, while alleging that the ruling party has come down through the police. Wants to run the state.
According to a statement, Yadav said that the limits of injustice were being crossed during the BJP regime and the police did not spare even those who had the book of justice in their hands.
“They (BJP) treated the lawyers brutally. The police surrounded the lawyers in the courtroom and behaved violently. Many lawyers have sustained serious injuries,” he said.
Yadav said that when the police administration is treating the lawyers so ruthlessly, then one can wonder how it will treat and behave with the common people.
At the Ghaziabad court premises on Tuesday, police lathi-charged lawyers after some of them argued with the judge.
“The brutality with which the tyrannical police of the BJP government lathi-charged and beat up unarmed lawyers in Ghaziabad is highly condemnable,” Yadav said.
“BJP government has torn democracy and constitution and wants to run Uttar Pradesh through police. BJP government is doing injustice to every class one by one.
“At the behest of the BJP government, the police want to establish a reign of fear and terror in the state. Deaths are continuing in police custody.
He alleged that under the BJP government, the police were harassing the people instead of helping them. He also said that the state government has also destroyed the dignity of the justice system.
Yadav said that there is discrimination in the BJP government and youth are not getting jobs. He said that BJP people themselves know that the party traps people and does negative politics.
About the Mallikpur by-election, which has been put on hold due to a court case, Yadav said it was done deliberately as the BJP saw its defeat in the internal polls.
