BMW’s electric iX1 SUV is set to make a splash in India on September 28, offering style, power and eco-conscious driving in a competitive price range.

BMW is set to electrify the Indian automotive landscape with its much-awaited launch iX1 electric SUV On 28 September 2023.

This electric SUV marks a significant addition to BMW’s electric lineup in India, joining the ranks of the i4 sedan, iX SUV and i7 luxury sedan. Just eight months after the introduction of the new X1, BMW is taking another leap forward.

The BMW iX1, a successor to the third-generation X1, retains the signature BMW aesthetic while introducing electrification enhancements. This all-electric SUV features a front fascia equipped with BMW’s iconic twin-kidney design, complete with sleek LED headlamps that leave a lasting impression. Completing these changes are attractive new alloy wheels and a thoughtfully redesigned rear end.

The iX1’s cabin features features like a 10.7-inch touchscreen and BMW’s smoothly curved digital information display system. Other feature highlights include panoramic sunroof and front massage seats.

Under the hood, the BMW iX1 xDrive30 packs a powerful 66.5 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of up to 130 kWh fast DC charging. With two motors, this SUV delivers a combined output of 313 hp and a strong torque of 494 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The iX1 has an impressive claimed range of 440 km and a top speed of 180 km/h.

The price of iX1 is expected to fall in the range of Rs. 60-65 lakh, possibly making it the most accessible electric BMW in India. In this price segment, it is set to compete with the Volvo XC40 Recharge, which is priced at Rs. 56.9 lakh.
