Apple is going to tie up with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT in iPhone: Report-Republic World

ChatGPT in iPhone: According to Bloomberg Apple analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is close to a deal with OpenAI to integrate the startup's technology into the iPhone, as part of a broader initiative to introduce artificial intelligence capabilities into its devices.

The talks between the two parties include finalizing the terms of including ChatGPT features in the upcoming iPhone operating system iOS 18. Additionally, Apple is engaged in discussions with Google regarding the potential licensing of its Gemini chatbot. According to Gurman, although these talks are ongoing, no agreement has been reached yet.

If the deal with OpenAI is reached, Apple would be ready to offer the widely used chatbot as one of several new AI features set to be announced next month. Despite reports indicating the intensity of discussions, the timing of any potential announcement remains uncertain.

Apple is preparing to highlight advances in the world of artificial intelligence at its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference in June. As part of this initiative, the company intends to utilize data centers equipped with its proprietary in-house processors to facilitate the execution of upcoming AI features.

In a statement last year, Apple CEO Tim Cook acknowledged his personal use of OpenAI's ChatGPT while noting ongoing concerns regarding related challenges. He underlined the company's commitment to introducing new AI capabilities into its product lineup in a systematic manner.

During Apple's recent earnings conference call, Cook underlined the company's belief in the transformative potential of AI and highlighted its unique strengths, including the seamless integration of hardware, software, and services, as key differentiators in this evolving landscape.
