Arsenal press conference live: Mikel Arteta on Man United's win, the title race and Saka's injury

Mikel Arteta is ready to face the press after Arsenal's Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Gunners started the match strongly with Bukayo Saka going close. However United progressed into the game and threatened David Raya's goal with efforts from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hjölund.

However, it was Arsenal who broke the deadlock when Kai Havertz was played through by Ben White. It looked as if the German was offside, but the weak Casemiro played him in and was able to tap past Leandro Trossard on goal.

After that the pace of the game slowed down and lacked real quality. There were possibilities. United came close to Garnacho on a few occasions, but did not register their first shot on target until the 69th minute.

Arsenal defended for the most part, but did pose a threat on the counter through substitute Gabriel Martinelli, while Declan Rice also went close.

Ultimately however Arsenal managed to secure victory, ensuring that the race for the Premier League title would go on until the final day of the season.

Arteta if he's going to be a Tottenham fan on Tuesday

We know we need it. They are a really tough team to play against. We had to face this when we played them a few weeks ago. So hopefully they can do that.

Arteta is on if City are under pressure

I don't know. This is a question for them. We have to do our work and wait.

Arteta is under pressure by needing to win every week

I believe that winning encourages you to win more, to be better equipped and better prepared. This is 27 wins in the Premier League, the most in the history of this club. This is not progress, this is history.

All eyes are on Spurs

From Kai Havertz to Sky Sports:

“I'm going to be the biggest Tottenham fan ever!”

player rating

Big win but no good performance #afc, Saliba stands out, while Gabriel and Havertz were good. Another important goal from Trossard. The party is far from its best, but victory is what matters.
