New Delhi:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying the ruling party will not get more than 230 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters in Delhi a day after being released on interim bail, Mr Kejriwal also claimed that the opposition Indian bloc would win the elections and AAP would be part of the next government at the Centre.

“In the last 20 hours after I was released from jail, I spoke to poll experts and people, and I came to know that the BJP is not going to form the government,” he said.

Arvind Kejriwal said that BJP's Lok Sabha seats will be less in Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Delhi, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. He said that his seats will not increase in any state.

“This is my analysis and political analysts are also saying that the BJP will not get more than 220-230 seats. The Modi government is not being formed on June 4,” Mr Kejriwal added.

He also promised that when the India Bloc government is formed, Delhi will be given full statehood.

Responding to Mr. Kejriwal's remarks, BJP spokesperson Sidhanshu Trivedi said, “When an AAP leader is giving away so many seats despite being full of hatred for his party, it means that the ruling alliance is predicting him. can get twice as many votes.”

'PM Modi will retire next year'

Arvind Kejriwal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking votes for Amit Shah, claiming that the Union home minister will succeed him after he “retires” at the age of 75.

“These people (BJP leaders) ask the India Bloc about their face. I am asking the BJP who will be their Prime Minister. Modiji is turning 75 on September 17 next year. “They made it a rule that 75-year-olds retired LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and Sumitra Mahajan,” he told his supporters.

“Modi will retire next year. He is seeking votes to make Amit Shah the Prime Minister. Will Shah fulfill Modiji's guarantee?” he asked.

Mr. Kejriwal also claimed that if the BJP wins the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, all opposition leaders including Mamata Banerjee, Tejashwi Yadav, MK Stalin, Pinarayi Vijayan and Uddhav Thackeray will be sent to jail.

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to Mr. Kejriwal in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi Excise Policy scam so that he can campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. The Supreme Court has asked them to surrender on June 2, a day after the final phase of the seven-phase poll is due to conclude.
