Arvind Kejriwal's “10 poll guarantee” also includes statehood for Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced AAP's '10 guarantees' if his party wins the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Mr Kejriwal's assurances include a wide range of public welfare measures, including promises of free electricity and better healthcare.

“The BJP has always failed in its promises; my guarantees have a proven track record,” Mr Kejriwal said. “People have to call whether to go for 'Kejriwal's guarantee' or 'Modi guarantee'.

Foremost among Mr. Kejriwal's election promises is the assurance of free electricity for all, particularly targeting the economically disadvantaged sections of society. The AAP chief advocated replicating Delhi's model of uninterrupted power supply across the country.

“The first of the 10 guarantees is that we will provide 24-hour electricity to the country. The country has a capacity of 3 lakh megawatts but the utilization is only 2 lakh megawatts. Our country can generate more electricity. We have This is done in Delhi and Punjab, we will provide 200 units free of cost to all the poor, we can arrange it,” said Mr. Kejriwal.

Second on Mr. Kejriwal's list of election promises is improving education in government schools. The Delhi Chief Minister claimed that Rs 5 lakh crore would be required to remedy this and the state governments and the Center should contribute Rs 2.5 lakh crore each to meet the total cost.

“The condition of our government schools today is not good. Our second guarantee is that we will provide good and excellent free education for all. Government schools will provide better education than private schools. We have done this in Delhi and Punjab. 5 lakh crores will be required for this, the state governments will give 2.5 lakh crores and the central government will give 2.5 crores for it.

The AAP national convenor also put a price tag of Rs 5 lakh crore to renovate government hospitals and improve India's healthcare infrastructure.

“The condition of our government hospitals in our country is not good. Our third guarantee is good health. We will arrange good treatment for everyone. Neighborhood clinics will be opened in every village, every area. District hospitals will be converted into multi-specialty hospitals. will be changed in. Every person born in this country will not be treated on insurance basis because it is a big scam, we will spend 5 lakh crores on health care.

Other guarantees on the list, according to Mr. Kejriwal, are to “liberate” Indian land from Chinese control, close the Agnivur scheme, provide MSP to farmers as per the Swaminathan Commission report and give full statehood to Delhi.

“Our fourth guarantee is 'Nation First'. China is occupying our land but our central government is denying it… Our military is very strong, all the land in the country will be liberated. China has taken over. For this, efforts will be made at the diplomatic level and on the other hand, whatever steps should be taken in this regard, the youth will be worried about this will be taken,” said Mr. Kejriwal.

Mr Kejriwal, who was arrested by the probe agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam case, was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on Friday.

A day after he was released from Tihar Jail, Mr Kejriwal announced that the opposition India Alliance would form the next government, including his AAP. The opposition alliance, which includes parties like AAP, Congress, Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and others, was formed to challenge the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections. .
