GurugramAs: Haryana Assembly Elections Political campaigning has intensified across the state, particularly in Badshahpur and Gurugram. The elections are scheduled to be held on October 1, but recent developments have given a new twist to the story.
On August 22, Haryana BJP An email has been sent to the Election Commission requesting the postponement of the upcoming assembly elections. The party expressed concern over possible low voter turnout due to extended holidays. Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal confirmed to PTI that the communication was received and forwarded to the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, political candidates are actively engaging with voters. Kamodini Rakesh Daulatabad, wife of late Azad MLA Rakesh Daulatabad of Badshahpur, organized a public meeting at Anaj Mandi in Farrukhnagar. She is running as an independent candidate and urged the public to support her, as they did for her husband in 2019. During the rally, she highlighted the work done by her late husband, such as securing and initiating efforts for the Metro expansion project. Avoid water accumulation. “I will speak without any fear or support and raise the voice of the people in the state assembly,” she said.
In Gurugram, BJP leader Subash Singhla, a three-time councillor, met women voters in Ward 18 of Housing Board Colony. He emphasized the BJP's commitment to women empowerment and sought their support in the elections. “I have worked hard to bring progress in ward number 18, and if the party gives me an opportunity, I will serve the entire Gurugram in the same way,” Singhala said.
Congress hopeful Mohit Grover, who secured nearly 50,000 votes as an independent candidate in the 2019 Gurugram assembly elections, visited Wazirabad village to address the lack of basic infrastructure. He assured the villagers that their problems would be solved once the Congress came to power. “I have asked the villagers to support the Congress party in the upcoming assembly elections,” Grover said.
In another development, BJP candidate Naveen Goyal held a large public meeting at Lakshmi Garden on Khandsa Road, where he outlined his plans for the inclusive development of Gurugram. “We will work hard to ensure the development of the entire Gurugram,” he asserted in a statement.
BJP district president and Badshahpur candidate Kamal Yadav also highlighted his efforts to connect the party with the government and ensure redressal of public grievances. Yadav said, “I have worked hard especially in the last year to convey the message of the BJP to the people.
As the campaign continues, all eyes are on the Election Commission's decision on the BJP's postponement request.
