'Axar, Kuldeep will bowl 4 overs each. Jadeja, if… then you can't trust him': Rohit Sharma sends important message ahead of IND vs SA

Team India will take on South Africa in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados on Saturday, where they will look to end an 11-year ICC title drought. The winning side will have the distinction of being the first to remain undefeated throughout the campaign; while this will be India's third final in the tournament, this is South Africa's first time reaching the title clash in the shortest format.

India have played on the Barbados pitch once in this campaign, during the match against Afghanistan; the team had posted their second-highest score in the game, making 181/8, and bowling out Rashid Khan's side for 134. However, the Proteas will take to the pitch for the first time on Saturday.

But while India have this edge over Aiden Markram's side, former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has cautioned the team about a certain possibility as the two teams clash for the trophy. Manjrekar said that the batting-friendly surface in Barbados could bring the fast bowlers into play, which according to him has been a “slight weakness” for the Indian team.

“I believe if the pitch becomes too good for batting, if it is a flat deck, it will be difficult to give four overs to Jadeja. India will have to turn to Hardik Pandya. This is a weakness which we saw against Australia,” Manjrekar said. ESPNcricinfo.

Jadeja bowled just one over in the match against Australia and conceded 17 runs, while Hardik also proved expensive and conceded 47 runs in his four overs without taking any wicket. Manjrekar said that India can come under pressure if the pitch is conducive for batting.

Manjrekar further said, “Hardik is bowling four overs, Arshdeep Singh is also adjusting with his consistency. Seam bowling comes under a bit of pressure on a flat pitch. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav will bowl four overs, but you cannot rely on Jadeja. Hardik Pandya will have to perform according to the situation, Shivam Dubey may have to bowl one or two overs.”

India's performance so far

Despite a poor performance from Hardik and Jadeja in the Super Eights match against Australia, India won thanks to the brilliant performances of Arshdeep Singh (3 wickets) and Kuldeep Yadav (2 wickets). Kuldeep also conceded only 24 runs in his four overs.

India defeated England by 68 runs in the semi-finals, with Hardik Pandya bowling only one over.
