Badla and a 21-year-old “Chhota Don” are behind the Delhi Burger King shooting

New Delhi:

Despite being only 21 years old, Himanshu Bhau or “Little Don” has already earned notoriety in the underworld, his criminal activities drawing the attention of Interpol, which has issued a Red Corner Notice against him. The gangster, who originally hails from Ratoli village in Rohtak, Haryana, is based in the Delhi-NCR region, planning violent crimes from abroad.

The most recent and shocking crime linked to Himanshu Bhau took place on Tuesday night at a Burger King outlet in Delhi's Rajouri Garden. The two shooters, reportedly aged 25-30, fired 38 rounds from three different weapons and opened fire. Their target was Aman June, 26, whose body was found behind the billing counter. This brazen attack on a public place has raised serious questions about the law and order situation in the national capital.

A claim of revenge

Preliminary investigations suggest that Aman Jon's killing was in retaliation for the 2020 killings in Haryana. Himanshu Bhau has claimed responsibility for the attack through a post on his new Instagram account. He alleged that Aman was involved in the murder of his colleague Shakti Dada and vowed revenge against all those involved. “The person killed in Rajouri Garden was involved in the murder of our brother Shakti Dada, and it was an act of revenge. All others involved will be targeted soon,” his message read.

Rise of Himanshu Bhau

Himanshu Bhau's journey into the criminal underworld began in his hometown Ratoli. At just 17, a heated argument led him to pick up a pistol and shoot, an act that landed him in a juvenile reformatory. However, Himanshu soon escaped, and in time, 17 serious criminal cases were accumulated against him in Rohtak and Jhajjar. His notoriety grew, and so did his criminal empire, eventually calling him the “Little Don” of Delhi.

The gangster is believed to be orchestrating his criminal activities from abroad, possibly from Portugal, his last known location. His partner Sahil was recently detained in the US. Despite living abroad, Himanshu's influence in Delhi is strong, as evidenced by the recent Burger King shooting.

A network of fear and extortion

Himanshu Bhau's criminal activities went beyond murder. He is heavily involved in extortion, targeting traders, liquor sellers and bookies in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. His modus operandi involves demanding money through WhatsApp, followed by threats from his henchmen and, if necessary, violence. His gang has carried out several shootings in the past six months alone, including an indiscriminate firing at a car showroom in West Delhi last month.

The gangster has tied up with rivals of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, one of the most feared criminal networks in North India. His association with jailed gangster Neeraj Bawana further strengthened his position.
