Bandhan Bank appoints Ratan Kumar Kesh as interim CEO


Bandhan Bank Limited has appointed Rattan Kumar Kesh as interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Director. Kesh will take charge from July 10.

He will replace Chandrashekhar Ghosh, who will retire on July 9 after completing his current term, the bank said in a stock exchange filing on Saturday.

The appointment was made after approval from the Reserve Bank of India and the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Kesh is currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer and has nearly three decades of experience across various industries. He has assumed the position of Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer from March 31, 2023. He is leading multiple functions including technology, operations, customer experience, transformation, internal audit, recovery and other support functions.

He was part of the core team that led organization transformation across technology, digital, governance, quality and customer focus during his tenure at ICICI Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., YES Bank Ltd. and Axis Bank Ltd.

Bandhan Bank's total deposits grew 22.8% year-on-year to Rs 1.33 lakh crore in the April-June quarter, according to provisional data released by the bank.

Bandhan Bank shares on Friday closed 1.76% lower at Rs 204.30 per share, while the BSE Sensex declined 0.07%.
