Bishnoi gang: 5 members of Bishnoi gang arrested in STF operation. Police claim to avoid gang war Gurgaon News

GURGAON: The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested five people associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in separate operations in the city and Abuhar in Punjab in the last two days. Police seized five foreign-made firearms, including three gloves, along with 51 bullets from the gang members. With these arrests, the STF stopped the gang war as gangsters were planning attacks in Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab to eliminate their rivals, an officer said.

Police said the plan was orchestrated at the behest of Bishnoi's aide Rohit Godara. Investigation revealed that one of the arrested sharpshooters had rented a house in Farrukhnagar and was using it under the guise of providing wireless internet services to shelter other members.

About four months ago, the STF received a tip-off about the Bishnoi gang's plans to expand its hold in the city. The police wing increased its surveillance on the activities of the gang members of Godra. He first zeroed in on one of the gang members, Dinesh alias Dinu, a resident of Bhawani's Deosar.

At the direction of Godara and Naveen Boxer, another associate of Bishnoi, Dinesh moved to Farrukhnagar and rented a house about six months ago. “Dinesh was providing shelter and financial support to the gang members. We arrested him on Saturday and seized a watch along with five rounds. Dinesh was taken into police custody on Sunday. He was questioned. Later, we arrested four others from Abuhar in Punjab's Fazalka and seized four ammunitions from their possession,” said DSP (STF) Preet Pal Sangwan.

Those arrested from Abuhar have been identified as Jagdish alias Jaggu and Vishnu from Khantwa in Abuhar and their accomplices Sagar from Mathura and Pradeep from Samaspur in Delhi. According to the STF, their targets were rival gang members Kaushal Chaudhary and Devendra Bombeha.

“As the old gangs in Gurgaon have weakened, the new ones are trying to spread their wings. The five sharpshooters were in touch with Godara and Boxer. They were planning to kill their rivals in Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab. The STF has stopped them from executing their plans,” Sangwan told TOI.

Last month, the STF arrested two other sharpshooters of the Bishnoi gang, Mota and Vishal alias Kalu, who were wanted in the murder of businessman Sachin Gowda, after an April 29 shootout in Noah.
