BJP MP Ramesh Budhuri has been given the electoral responsibility in Rajasthan’s Tonk district.

New Delhi:

The BJP has given its Lok Sabha MP Ramesh Budhuri the electoral mandate in Rajasthan’s Tonk district, in the wake of a storm over his derogatory comments against BSP MP Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha, party sources said. said Wednesday.

The district has a large Gujjar community, with four assembly seats including one held by senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot. They are from the same caste.

The pilot also belongs to the Gujjar community.

Sources said Bidhuri’s responsibility will be similar to that of the poll in-charge of the party’s district.

Party leaders said Minas and Muslims are the two other largest communities in the district.

Pilot was elected from the Tonic Assembly seat in 2018.

Bidhuri also posted on X that he attended a coordination meeting for Tonk district held in Jaipur. State BJP president CP Joshi presided over the meeting.

The BJP MP from South Delhi was issued a show-cause notice by the party after his derogatory remarks targeting Ali in the Lok Sabha last week led to the opposition demanding suspension from the House. Anger was born.

Bidhuri is among the grassroots BJP leaders from the national capital and wields considerable influence in his constituency.

BJP leaders noted that the party has routinely fielded its MLAs in assembly elections in various states, and Bidhuri has been used in several previous elections.
