Gurugram:

The bodies of a young couple were found hanging from an electric pole under suspicious circumstances in the Aravali forest area near Sohna here on Saturday, police said.

He said that the 28-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, who were missing for the past three days, worked together.

Police said that a motorcycle was also recovered from the spot.

He further said that the bodies have been taken into custody and the investigation has been started.

The deceased have been identified as Anju, a resident of Jawa village and Rohit, a resident of Kot village in Noh district, police said.

Anju, who lived at her sister’s house in Nemut village in Gurugram district, worked in a private company, police said.

Rohit also worked in the same company and both went missing on October 4, police said.

He said that Anju’s family had lodged a missing report at Namuth police station.

Sohna police received a tip-off on Saturday afternoon that the bodies of a young couple were found hanging from a pole of a high-tension power line passing through the dense forest of Aravalli, a senior officer said.

He added that a police team reached the spot and brought down the bodies.

The officer said it appears that he died two or three days ago.

“It is also not yet clear whether they died of suicide or their bodies were hanged after the murder. Investigation is on,” he added.
