Marvel fans and fighting game fans rejoice, our shared day has arrived! Capcom has announced Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, a collection of seven games from the fighting game series of the same name.
According to Capcom's collection trailer, the games included are X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super-Heroes, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super-Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.
You'll notice that it's only six games. The last game is a true arcade port of the classic brawler The Punisher, which is a rare treat in itself, as games that have been translated extremely poorly to vintage consoles actually include online co-op.
“We take you on a trip to the arcades with MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics!” Capcom's social media announcement reads. “7 legendary games, a superheroic collection, coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam in 2024.”
Here is the trailer for the collection:

Capcom's fighting game collections are usually a lot of fun for fans of classic arcade fighters, and this one in particular has some great games. X-Men: Children of the Atom is an underrated classic, and of course, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is considered one of the best fighting games ever made, with a fantastic competitive scene.
This collection omits the modern crossover game Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which had multiple versions, and its underperforming sequel Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, both of which don't technically fall under the “Arcade Classics” banner. But there's plenty to keep fighting game enthusiasts and Marvel fans entertained.
Capcom has created an official website for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, but no release date has been announced yet other than 2024. And of course, you'll need a Switch, PS4, or Steam account to play it.
