Rain in Delhi today: In a much-needed respite from the heatwave, light to moderate rain with gusty winds is expected in parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) today, Thursday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert, forecasting light to heavy rains at a speed of 30-50 kmph over many parts of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in the next two hours. Moderate rain and winds will prevail. .
The IMD has predicted rain in these areas today.
The affected areas include Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Sonepat, Rewari and parts of NCR like Loni Dehat, Hindon Air Force Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chaparola, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad. , Manesar and Balabhgarh are included. The weather system has also expected rain in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, including Kharkhoda, Mithanhale, Jhajjar, Farrukhnagar, Sohana, Palwal, Baraut, Bagpat, Meerut, Khekra, Modinagar, Kethur, Pelkhwa, Hapur and Glavati.

Delhi, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan Temperature
This timely rain has come as a relief to the region, which has been suffering from severe heat wave for the past few days. Many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan recorded maximum temperatures between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD, a western disturbance is likely to provide some respite in the next few days, though only marginally. Moreover, conditions are now favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon, which was delayed in reaching North India.

Arrival of Monsoon in Delhi-NCR
The Meteorological Department has also said that Monsoon is expected to enter the Delhi-NCR region around June 30 and there has been some rain activity in Bihar. Additionally, orange alert for heatwave remains in place for Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR till June 21.
