MS Dhoni and his Chennai Super Kings teammates paid their respects and gave signed balls to the fans at the Chepauk Stadium after the win over Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024 on Sunday. This was CSK's 50th home win at the venue and also their final league game in this year's competition. If CSK qualifies for the final, it can still play at the venue. All the CSK players took a lap of honor and clapped for the support of all the fans while the spectators were chanting slogans in Dhoni's name. The cricketers also hit several signed tennis balls into the crowd which were caught by some fans.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings fans were left in shock after a social media post from the franchise just ahead of their crucial IPL 2024 match against Rajasthan Royals in Chennai on Sunday. CSK took to social media to post a special message for supporters – “Superfans are requested to stay back after the game! Something special is coming for you!”. While most of the fans commented that the team will take a lap of honor as this is their last IPL 2024 league game on home ground. However, some people speculated that this could be an announcement regarding the future of MS Dhoni.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first against Chennai Super Kings.
