The CMF Phone 1 will be officially launched in India on July 8. Ahead of the launch, the price of the Nothing starting budget handset has been leaked by tipster Yogesh Brar. According to Brar, the price of the upcoming CMF phone, including bank discount offers, will be under Rs 20,000.
The tipster posted on X (formerly Twitter), “CMF Phone 1… Price: Rs 15,999 and Rs 17,999 (with discount) What are your thoughts on this?”
As the official unveiling of the CMF Phone 1 draws closer, we are getting to see more teasers from the Carl Pei-led company. A latest leak from CMF By Nothing suggests that the screw at the back of the CMF Phone 1, which was shown in the first teaser, is actually detachable.
The London-based consumer technology company will also bring an attractive SIM ejector tool, which also doubles as a screwdriver.
Another teaser video reveals that the CMF Phone 1 will have removable back plates, allowing for better customisation. A Nothing community member in the video also mentions the possibility of 3D printing custom back plates for the device.
Meanwhile, Nothing has scheduled its next community update event on July 8 at 10 am BST, which is 2:30 pm IST. At the event, the company will announce the CMF Phone 1, which will mark the debut of its first smartphone under the CMF sub-brand. Additionally, Nothing will also introduce the second generation of its CMF Buds Pro and Watch Pro alongside the CMF Phone 1. The new smartphone will be launched under the CMF by Nothing sub-brand.
In a post on Nothing, formerly known as Twitter, the official CMF account announced that the CMF Buds Pro 2 and CMF Watch Pro 2 will be launched alongside the CMF Phone 1. These new devices will be introduced at Nothing's upcoming community update event on July 8.
CMF Phone 1 specifications and features (expected)
It is being said that the CMF Phone 1 will move away from its traditional glyph interface and will feature a new volume knob-like button on the back of the phone. In the Nothing Phone 2a, the company has also reduced the number of glyph lights on the back of the phone.
The details of the specific functionalities of the button have not been revealed yet, leaving uncertainty as to whether it will serve only aesthetic purposes or offer additional capabilities. However, there is nothing to suggest that the CMF Phone 1 may offer unique features aimed at differentiating itself among competitors.
The CMF Phone 1 is rumoured to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and thick bezels. The device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, which is also speculated to be used in the upcoming Oppo Reno 12 Pro.
The CMF Phone 1 may have a 5,000mAh battery that will support 33W wired charging. Although these specifications have not been officially confirmed, it is certain that the smartphone will not include a charger in the package like Samsung, Apple and Google.
