Columbus police kill suspected Amazon shooter; Officer shot in vest

A gunman opened fire inside an Amazon warehouse facility in West Jeffersonn Columbus police have killed an officer after he shot him Sunday evening on the West Side.

Police union leaders said the officer was hit by a bullet in his bulletproof vest and was not seriously injured. It was the second fatal shooting by a Columbus officer in less than 24 hours, after an officer was shot and killed Saturday night in Euclid, a suburb near Cleveland.

There have been no reports of injuries at the Amazon facility.

West Jefferson Police confirmed that the suspect was an Amazon employee and that a bullet hit the warehouse building around 4:45 p.m.
