Vehicle combat has become one of the main gameplay mechanics in the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion with the base game and 2.0 version updates. There will be moments when exploring Night City where you will have to take out an enemy who is driving, making it important that you understand everything you need to know about this aspect of the game.

From crashing into other vehicles to shooting at other cars from the driver’s or passenger’s seat, there’s a lot you’ll be able to do.

Additionally, you’ll be able to unlock a number of features within each feature, allowing you to get the most out of whatever car you’re driving.

So, today’s Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty guide will tell you everything you need to know about vehicle combat, which was introduced with the 2.0 version update.

How does vehicle combat work in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty (2.0)?

When engaging in vehicular combat, here are some of the things you will be able to accomplish in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty:

1) Shooting as a driver or passenger

If you are driving or in the passenger seat, you will be able to take out handguns and submachine guns to be able to fire at enemy vehicles. Enemies will automatically lock on, so you won’t have to worry about manually aiming your weapon while driving your vehicle.

If you’re in the driver’s seat, you’ll be able to fire your weapon by tapping Y/Triangle at the base of your console. You can aim by pressing LT/L2 and then shoot by pressing RB/R1. X/Square will reload the weapon, B/Circle will holster it, and you can also use consumables by pressing the Up button on the D-pad.

If you’re in the passenger seat, you’ll be able to hold LT/L2 to aim and then RT/R2 to shoot. The shoot button returns to normal when in the passenger seat. Again, you can reload with X/Square and tap the Up button on the D-pad to use consumables.

2) Accurate shots will help to disable enemy vehicles

There will be moments in vehicle combat when you will be able to land an accurate shot at an enemy car. So do not hesitate to shoot at different areas of their car, this is because you will be able to instantly disable the enemy car by placing accurate shots at certain places.

3) Colliding with cars can knock them out

Crashing into enemy vehicles is another great way to take them out quickly. However, this will also result in damage to you and your vehicle. That said, this can be mitigated by unlocking some of the various features.

4) Using Car Weapon

Some cars in Night City will come with their own built-in weapons. They will provide unique combat opportunities, and you will be able to use weapons such as vehicle-mounted turrets and missile launchers.

5) Every attribute in Cyberpunk 2077 has a vehicle perk

The attributes of Body, Cool, Technical Ability, Reflexes, and Intelligence all have a vehicle perk that you can unlock to further improve the combat capability of your vehicle.
