Dana laid off 240 employees as a result of the UAW strike.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Wayne) – Dana has temporarily laid off 240 employees at its Fort Wayne plant, according to Dana’s senior director of corporate communications.

These layoffs come after work at the plant was affected due to the strike by the United Auto Workers (UAW). Affected employees, including those who support Dana customers, will be laid off until an agreement is reached between the union and the automakers.

“We are hopeful that the union and the automakers will reach an agreement soon,” said Jeff Cole, senior director of corporate communications.

Dana makes and contributes auto parts to the Big Three automakers.

This comes after the UAW announced Friday it was expanding the strike to three more plants.
