BSP MP Danish Ali on Monday accused the BJP leadership of allowing its MLA Ramesh Budhuri to create a narrative around him and his community, and during a special session in Parliament. Questioned the ‘delay’ in taking action against derogatory remarks made. He further claimed that since the day the incident took place, evidence against him was being dug up.

Ali told the news agency, “Proceedings are being delayed, and evidence is being dug up against me from the day (when Bidhuri made these remarks). I challenge that if there is any evidence against me Keep it up.” PTI
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first address in the new Parliament building where he said how people have the power to decide who will sit on which side of the House based on their behaviour, the BSP member Parliament said, “People of the country have seen. BJP’s attitude.”
Earlier in the day, Bidhuri met BJP president JP Nadda at the party headquarters after he was issued a show-cause notice over the matter. On this, Ali said, “If they (BJP) were sincere in taking action, why would they call him and ask him, everything is on record.” Is there a conspiracy to create a new narrative?
Earlier, BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh waded into the controversy and said Bidhuri’s anger was a result of Ali’s ‘running commentary’ on the saffron party leaders. “While I am not condoning what he (Badhuri) said, Danish Ali should look within himself before pointing fingers at others. He is ‘running’ on our leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. I have rarely heard a member speak out against our leaders as often as he did.
The BSP MP rejected Sharan Singh’s statement saying that he is not in a position to dictate what should be done inside the Parliament after the chargesheet in the sexual harassment case. “We are in a parliamentary democracy, the people have elected us and given us the responsibility to sit in the opposition, so I carry the responsibility of the opposition MP,” he said in response to ‘Running Commentary’. .
