Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor: NCTRC completes construction of three major bridges over Ghazipur Canal – Infrastructure News


The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has completed the construction of three bridges over the Ghazipur canal as part of the comprehensive multi-modal integration at Anand Vihar RRTS station, officials have revealed.

These bridges are an important part of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, with the merger at Anand Vihar station nearing completion.

Officials added that the Anand Vihar RRTS station is now connected to the Anand Vihar Metro station. This will give passengers direct access to multiple transport modes.

Officials added that the construction of three necessary bridges to enter the station has been completed, and is currently in final stages.

At the concourse level, the Anand Vihar RRTS station connects to the Anand Vihar Metro station on the Blue and Pink Lines. Flooring and finishing work has been started to ensure smooth passenger movement between the two stations.

For easy transit, prioritizing convenience and accessibility for passengers, escalators and lifts have been installed by NCRTC.

Bridge over Ghazipur Canal

These newly constructed bridges over Ghazipur Nala are very important to connect the station to the main road. Officials said the finishing work includes construction of side walls and preparation for carpeting.

All these bridges have a specific purpose. One of them is for the entry of vehicles, the other is for the exit. The third is for pedestrians. Their dimensions are 10 meters wide, 28 meters long, 13 meters wide, 28 meters long, 5 meters wide, 25 meters long respectively.

Designed to provide seamless connectivity, the Anand Vihar RRTS station follows the multi-modal integration plan, ensuring superior commuting. Experience for all passengers including the elderly, women and children.

Once operational, passengers will be able to move easily between metro stations, Anand Vihar Railways. Station, Anand Vihar ISBT, Koshambi Bus Terminal, and DTC Inter-State Bus Terminal, according to officials.

Officials also said that the underground Anand Vihar RRTS station, which is 297 meters long and 35 meters wide, has been completed with remarkable engineering skill despite construction challenges.
