Dharmendra Pradhan says that the new date for NEET-PG will be announced within two days.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on June 29 that the new NEET-PG schedule will be announced by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in the next two days.

The NEET-PG is among the exams canceled last week as a pre-emptive measure amid a raging row over alleged irregularities in the competitive tests.

“The NBE will announce the date of entrance test, postgraduate along with national eligibility in a day or two,” Mr Pradhan told reporters in Panchkula on the sidelines of the Haryana BJP's extended state executive meeting.

Mr. Pradhan's comments came a day after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced revised dates for three exams that were cancelled.

The University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET), which was canceled a day after it was held on June 18 after the education ministry received inputs that the integrity of the exam was compromised, will now be held from August 21. It will be held till September 4.

Mr. Pradhan had said that the question paper was leaked on the darknet and circulated on the Telegram app. CBI is investigating the matter.

UGC-NET is an examination which determines eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professors for award of Junior Research Fellowship and admission to Ph.D courses.

In a change from the earlier pattern, the exam was conducted this year in offline mode and on a single day. However, the rescheduled exam will be conducted as per the earlier pattern of Computer Based Test (CBT) spread over a fortnight.

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC-NET, which was postponed as a pre-emptive measure amid controversy over alleged irregularities in the conduct of examinations, will now be held from July 25 to 27.

CSIR UGC-NET is accepted for PhD admissions in Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP), which was postponed hours before its scheduled start on June 12, will now be held on July 10.

This exam is conducted for selected central and state universities or institutes including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and government colleges.

After coming under fire over alleged irregularities in medical entrance exam NEET-UG and PhD entrance NET, the Center had last week notified a panel to ensure transparent, smooth and fair conduct of examinations by NTA. .
