Gurugram: Gurugram police have arrested eight cybercriminals, including four women, from a bogus call center in Palam Vihar who were duping people by promising jobs abroad. An anonymous source tipped off the police about the fake call center.
According to the police, the statue was created using the 'Partimb application'. Ten mobile phones and four laptops used in the crime were seized from the accused. Acting on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner of Police Cybercrime Shri Priyanshu Dewan, a police team led by Inspector Manish Kumar busted the illegal operation on Thursday.
Among those arrested are Narendra Kumar from Palam village in Delhi, Vikrant Singh from Barakhurd in Jund, Ravi Kumar from Raghuvir Enclave in Delhi, Kajal from Aliganj Kotla Mubarakpur in Delhi, Grima from Jayanpur, Azamgarh, Agnes from Anuppur. Franesh, Ranjan Kumar included. Shyam Vihar Phase-II, Delhi, and Daktania village of Ganganagar to Sahil Punya.
A case has been registered against them under Sections 419, 420, and 120-B IPC at Cyber Crime Police Station South, Gurugram.
Investigation revealed that the accused created a website 'internationaljobsolutions.com' and obtained data from shine.com to contact job seekers.
They would gain the trust of the victims and cheat them of Rs 2 to 3 lakh and deposit the amount in fake bank accounts provided by their accomplices. This operation was going on for about six months and the fraudsters were paid Rs 18,000 per month.
The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs has developed the Prati Bomb portal, which provides real-time information about active cyber criminals, enabling swift police action.
