FromSoftware is releasing a new update for Elden Ring, which adds a number of features ahead of the release of the DLC Shadows of the Aardtree.
Today, following server maintenance on June 20, patch 1.12 has been deployed to prepare Elden Ring for the release of Shadows of the Aardtree on June 21. It serves as an update to the Elden Ring base game and a day-one patch for the highly anticipated expansion.
Patch 1.12 added new inventory features, including marking newly obtained items with a “!”, and a new tab called Recently Acquired Items so players can quickly review recently obtained items.
Elsewhere, there are new summoning pool features, such as active summoning pools will now be carried over to NG+, and individual summoning pools will be enabled/disabled in the newly added Map Functions menu. FromSoftware said that only active summoning pools will be selected when using the Small Golden Effigy.
And five new hairstyles have been added to the game. These can be selected during character creation using the Clouded Mirror stand or Renala's Rebirth feature.
Shadows of the Aardtree is set to add a ton of new content to the popular role-playing game. Like previous FromSoftware games Dark Souls and Bloodborne, however, accessing the DLC isn't as simple as selecting it on a menu, as players will need to tick off some obscure feats beforehand, Including defeating an optional bossThankfully, IGN has a guide How to prepare for the Shadows of Aardtree DLC If you need to rush ahead before the expansion's release. IGN's Shadows of the Aardtree review scored it 10/10. We said: “Just like the base game, Elden Ring: Shadows of the Aardtree raises the bar for single-player DLC expansions. It takes everything that made the base game such a landmark RPG, condenses it into a relatively compact 20-25 hour campaign, and delivers fantastic new challenges for heavily invested fans.”
