Emmy-winning ‘This Is Us’ actor Ron Cephas Jones dies at 66

Two-time Emmy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated actor Ron Cephas Jones has died at the age of 66.

Jones had a “long-standing pulmonary problem,” a representative for the late actor told People on Saturday.

Jones was best known for his role as William Hill in the NBC drama “This Is Us”, where he won two Emmy Awards in 2018 and 2020 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

“Throughout her career, her warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her,” said a statement to the outlet. “She began her career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and her love of the stage has been present throughout her career, including her recent Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning performance on Broadway for her role in ‘Clydes’ Is.”

“Ron, thank you for lighting up every room you walk into. “I will never forget and be moved by your kind heart, amazing spirit, immeasurable talent and beautiful smile,” Metz said. “May your transition be filled with light and peace. In the meantime, I am sending all my love to Jasmine and her loved ones. You really are the best cat.”

Mandy Moore, who played Rebecca Pearson on the show, called Jones “pure magic as a human being and as a performer”.
