EPL: Man Utd ready to pay €10m for Amorim as new manager


Sporting Lisbon have confirmed that Manchester United have expressed an interest in paying the €10 million release clause in manager Ruben Amorim's contract.

The Portuguese club has informed the country's financial regulator about the talks.

Amorim is expected to be in charge when Sporting play a Taca da Liga tie against Nacional at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on Tuesday night.

But this could be the 39-year-old's last game with the team.

Due to their listing on the stock market, Sporting is obliged to notify Portugal's financial regulator, the CMVM, of any significant impact on the club's business.

The statement to the CMVM read: “The game is subject to the conditions and is intended to fulfill the information obligation arising from the provisions of Article 17 of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
