Flats: Buyers protest against delay in affordable housing project in Gurgaon | Gurgaon News

GURGAON: Scores of homebuyers of Renuka Ashiara, an affordable housing project in Sector 37C, took to the streets on Sunday against the builder for delay in handing over their flats. Despite promises of occupancy by June 30, buyers suspect that only 75 percent of construction is complete. They fear that the flats may not be ready even within the next six months. In protest, they gathered at the project site, expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work and poor quality of construction. Frustrated shoppers threatened election boycotts. The project, which started in 2018, was initially supposed to be completed by January 2023. However, the deadlines are repeatedly missed, leading to dissatisfaction among home buyers. A representative of the builder did not respond to TOI calls and messages.
