Several airlines suspended service to Israel this weekend after surprise attacks by Hamas and Israeli retaliation killed hundreds of people.

United Airlines, Delta Airlines And American Airlines Every scrubbed service to Tel Aviv. According to flight tracker FlightAware, United Flight 954, which departed San Francisco for Israel on Friday night, turned back near Greenland.

Lufthansa Group said all its flights to Tel Aviv, including Swiss International Airlines and Austrian Airlines, were suspended until Monday.

“We continue to monitor the security situation in Israel and are in close contact with the authorities,” Lufthansa said in a statement. “The safety of our guests and crew members is Lufthansa’s top priority.”

Israeli airline El Al said on Sunday that its flights were “operating as scheduled.”

Al Al and other carriers also offer travel discounts for customers to delay or cancel their trips.
