Fourth Indian arrested in Canada for suspected role in separatist Najjar murder case India News


Canadian authorities on Saturday arrested a fourth Indian national for his role in the killing of separatist Khalistan. Hardeep Singh Nanjaraccording to an official release.

Amardeep Singh, 22, of the Brampton, Surrey and Abbotsford areas of Canada, has been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said Singh was arrested for his role in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nanjar on May 11. He was already in Peel Regional Police custody on an unrelated firearms charge, the official release said.

“This arrest reflects the nature of our ongoing investigation to bring to justice those responsible for the murder of Hardeep Singh Najjar,” said Superintendent Mandeep Mokar, officer-in-charge of IHIT.

Najjar, 45, was murdered on June 18, 2023, outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia.

A festive offering

IHIT investigators on May 3 Three Indian nationals were arrested. – Kiran Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22) and 28-year-old Kiranpreet Singh – for the murder of Hardeep Singh Nanjar.

All three men are Indian nationals living in Edmonton and have been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
