Gemini adds split-screen on Android tablets, foldables

After being introduced to the latest Samsung foldables earlier this year, the Gemini overlay now has a shortcut that lets you quickly enter split-screen multitasking on larger-screen Android devices.

The Gemini overlay adds a centered handle bar on the top edge that you can drag so the chatbot can move side-by-side (left/right/up/down) with whatever app you're using.

This can be useful if you're reading or watching something and want to have instant access to Gemini.

We're now seeing this split-screen shortcut on Pixel tablets and Folds today, whereas previously it was only available on Samsung devices when using Gemini. It is not visible on the Android phones we have tested today.
