A 13-year-old girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her home in Modi Nagar on Wednesday evening, two days after she was allegedly raped by a 23-year-old man, police officials said on Thursday. The line was found.

The girl was in touch with the accused, identified as Himanshu Soni, a resident of Modi Nagar, for the past one week. Police said that the incident of rape took place on June 17 and the accused was arrested.

“The accused had met the girl online and had been communicating with her for the past one week. On June 17 (Monday), he picked her up near her home on the first date. He drove her on his bike. “He took her to a hotel in Nagar and raped her before dropping her back. The owner of the hotel is an acquaintance of the suspect and did not bother to ask her for identification,” said a police officer investigating the case. said the officer.

On June 18, the girl confided in her parents, who questioned her about her reckless behavior and some marks on her body, police said.

After learning about the rape, the family complained to the police and booked the accused under sections 363 (kidnapping), 376 (3) (rape of female below 16 years) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. An FIR was registered under Code and relevant sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

On the basis of the FIR, the accused was arrested on Wednesday. The girl was sent for medical examination and returned home with her family around 4.30 pm.

“When the family awoke around 7 pm, they found the girl in the living room with her clothes hanging from the ceiling fan. They rushed her to a local hospital and then to another hospital in Meerut, where she was declared brought dead. Given,” said Vivek Chandra Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural), Ghaziabad.

The incident was reported to the police by a friend of the girl's father around 7.30 pm. An autopsy was conducted by a panel of doctors on Thursday afternoon.
