The police have registered a first information report (FIR) in the case following a complaint by the victim's father Sunil Kumar, a resident of Madhuban Bapodham township. In his police complaint filed on Friday, Kumar said his son was returning home from his private school in Akashnagar, off National Highway-9, around 3 pm when the incident took place.

“When my son approached a CNG filling station near Madhuban Bapodham, a speeding bus knocked him down and he was crushed under the front wheel of the bus. He suffered serious injuries. One Krishna Kumar called me and reported the incident. I reached the spot and took my son to a hospital in Kavinagar but he died during treatment at around 6.45 pm,” the FIR said, quoting the father in the complaint.
