Ghaziabad: A woman was arrested for pushing a 14-year-old child from the third floor balcony

A 14-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after her neighbor allegedly pushed her from the third-floor balcony of a residential building in Sain Vihar area of ​​Ghaziabad late on Wednesday evening, police said.

After the incident, they arrested a 35-year-old woman, identified as Renu Devi, and registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on the complaint of the victim’s family, police said. .

The girl could not keep her balance and fell on the ground. According to the victim’s brother Rohit Sharma, the incident took place around 6.30 pm on Wednesday when his sister was going to water the plants on the terrace with her seven-year-old niece.

“We live as tenants on the ground floor and the suspect woman is one of the tenants on the third floor. The woman had placed the kitchen utensils in the middle of the balcony and my niece accidentally walked and hit the utensils, causing The woman got angry,” said Rohit Kumar.

The woman allegedly abused the two children and tried to kill them and when the children objected, she pushed her sister from the third-floor balcony, Kumar said.

“She fell on the tiled road outside the house. We brought her to the district hospital for treatment. Apart from a fracture in her leg, several teeth and jaw were broken. She also sustained injuries on her hands and back,” he said. Kumar added.

Based on the complaint filed by the girl’s brother, a case has been registered against the accused woman under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code, police said.
