The three suspects have been identified as 27-year-old Anuj Sharma, 28-year-old Pulkit Goyal and Rishabh's cousin Mukal Gupta (26).
Explaining the sequence of events, the police said that on Tuesday morning, they discovered the body on the roadside in Nehru Nagar along with an improvised weapon and the victim's mobile phone.

Police said they questioned Gupta's family and learned that Gupta had gone to Haridwar on Monday night with three of his friends for a holiday.

After the discovery of the body on Tuesday morning, several police teams were called in, and Gupta's cousin Mukal was the first person to be questioned by the police on Tuesday afternoon.

Explaining the motive behind the murder, police said Gupta and Sharma were business partners about a year-and-a-half ago and had parted ways over a business-related dispute that had turned bitter.
Police said that while returning from Meerut to Ghaziabad, Sharma stopped the car at his house in Panchoti for about 5-10 minutes.
“It is suspected that he had brought the weapon from his house and later used it to kill Gupta. We have learned that Sharma and Gupta were business partners and they separated over a business dispute a year and a half ago. “We suspect that this was the motive of the murder. The three suspects have been arrested,” said the DCP.
