Search giant Google is celebrating its 25th birthday today with a special doodle. Google Inc. was founded on September 4, but the company has been celebrating its birthday on September 27 for more than a decade. So today, the company took a “walk down memory lane” and showcased various doodles to mark this special occasion. Today’s Google Doodle comes with a GIF that changes ‘Google’ to ‘G25gle’. The tech firm said it was using the day as a “time to reflect” as it looked toward the future.

Google wrote, “Today’s Doodle celebrates Google’s 25th year. And as future-oriented as we are here at Google, birthdays can also be a time to reflect. Let’s take a walk down memory lane and find out what we’ve been up to for 25 years.” How were you born before?” In its blog.

Google was founded by doctoral students Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who met in Stanford University’s computer science program in the late 90s. The two soon discovered that they had the same vision – to make the World Wide Web a more accessible place. According to its blog, the pair worked tirelessly from their dorm rooms to develop a prototype of a better search engine.

It reads, “As soon as he made meaningful progress on the project, he moved the operation to Google’s first office – a rented garage. On September 27, 1998, Google Inc. was officially born.”

Furthermore, the company emphasized that much has changed since 1998, but also stated that its mission remains the same – “organizing the world’s information and making it universally accessible and useful”. Thanking users for “evolving with us over the past 25 years”, Google said, “We can’t wait to see where the future takes us together”.

Google’s current CEO is Sundar Pichai, who wrote a note to mark the company’s birthday last month. He took a look at the company’s journey, its role in technology transformation and the way forward. He expressed his gratitude to the users, employees and partners who have been a part of Google’s success. He also appreciated the continued challenge of innovation and the dedication of past and present Googlers.

In his note, Mr Pichai also highlighted the importance of innovation and adaptation. He acknowledged that what was once seen as extraordinary technology became increasingly common as boundaries were pushed.
