Gurcharan Singh missing case: Delhi Police team visits TMKOC sets, interrogates actors. Unique

Television actor Gurcharan Singh, who played the role of Roshan Sodhi in the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been missing for almost 20 days. Delhi Police is investigating the case and trying to trace the actor. It has now been revealed that a team of police officers visited the TMKOC sets in Mumbai's Film City.

News18 Shosha has exclusively learned that a team of Delhi Police officers recently visited the sets of the popular comedy show to investigate Singh's missing case. They interrogated Singh's former co-stars and tried to find out their whereabouts. “This week Delhi Police visited our set and spoke to actors who were in contact with Gurcharan Singh. Everyone has cooperated well with the police,” a source close to the show's production told us.

“Also, there were some rumors related to Gurcharan Singh being paid by the production house. But, the police found that the actor had been paid long ago,' said the insider.

Meanwhile, Neela Films production head Sohil Ramani also confirmed, “As a part of their investigation, Delhi Police had visited our sets. He went back assured that there was no dues from our side towards Gurucharan Singh. We will continue to pray for his well-being and hope he is found soon.”

Gurucharan Singh was last seen on April 22, 2024. His father filed a missing complaint four days later, saying, “My son Gurucharan Singh, age: 50 years, left for Mumbai at 8:30 am on April 22. He went to the airport to catch the flight. He neither reached Mumbai nor returned home and his phone is also not available. He is mentally stable and we were searching for him but now he is missing.”

Later, News 18 Shosha exclusively reported that the actor may have “planned” his own disappearance. “He left his phone in Palam area. We are trying to trace but this has made it even more difficult for us to trace Gurucharan Singh because it means the phone is not with the actor,” police sources told us. In the CCTV footage, he was seen moving from one e-rickshaw to another.

Recently, the actor's father Harjeet Singh also recalled the last day he spent with Gurucharan before he went missing. Harjeet revealed that the actor was in New Delhi when he celebrated his birthday. “There was no celebration as such, but we were at home together, and it felt good. The next day, he had to go to Mumbai,” he told The Times of India.

“What happened is so shocking, we don't know how to deal with it. We are all very upset (we are very upset) and are eagerly waiting for some update from the police. Gurucharan's father said, we are waiting for him to come back.

Meanwhile, several of Gurucharan's TMKOC co-stars, including Jennifer Mistry, Samay Shah and Mandar Chandwadkar, have expressed concern over his disappearance, and hoped that he would return home soon. Recently, the show's producer Asit Kumar Modi also reacted to the news and called it “painful” and “shocking”.
