Bilaspur police in Gurgaon on Tuesday arrested two persons for cattle smuggling after intercepting a truck carrying two bulls in Pachgaon.

Police said they received a tip-off that members of Bajrang Dal, Gau Raksha Dal, and Cow Protection Cell had driven a vehicle loaded with cattle for alleged illegal slaughter at Panchgaon on the Kundli-Manesar-Pulol Expressway. The flag has been taken down.

“Abhishek Gow (President of Bajrang Dal Gurgaon) complained. Asked if the Bajrang Dal members had the authority to raid the vehicles, a senior officer from Bilaspur police station said they had not raided the vehicle. The complaining party was providing information to us. They did not check the vehicle. “All legal actions have been taken by the police,” he said.

In the complaint, Gaur alleged, “We (cow protection cell members) received a tip-off that cattle in a pick-up truck would be taken from Jund in Rajasthan to Mewat via the KMP highway. But I reached the Panchgaon toll plaza with my team on Tuesday and informed the police. A checkpoint was set up by the cow protection cell, and after some time, a vehicle was spotted with a trident (trishul) on it. The sign was there. Seeing this, I signaled to stop the car which the driver was driving recklessly and at high speed.

“When we managed to stop the vehicle, I asked the driver and co-passenger for their names. The driver gave his name as Rakesh Kumar and the co-passenger as Lalit Kumar. On checking the vehicle, we found two bulls belonging to the vehicle. Found tightly tied inside,” he added.
