GUROGRAM: A man stabbed his wife with a pair of scissors and left her at the maternity home with an ice pick.

Earlier on Monday around 8 am, the suspect called Meenakshi's brother Amit Jon and asked him to visit their apartment to discuss plans to move to Canada, police said. However, Jon was unable to meet due to other commitments. Within minutes of the call, the violent attack took place and within the next 40 minutes, the suspect had reached Jhajjar with his injured wife, police said.

SHO Kumar said, “A police team raided the rented apartment where the couple was staying with their 18-year-old daughter on Monday evening but could not find them.”

The inspector said that the couple along with their daughter and son were residents of Jhajjar and settled in Canada. “The three had come to India only one-and-a-half months ago and started living in the society in Sector 111, Gurugram,” he added.

Their son lives in Canada, and the daughter's whereabouts are unclear after the incident, police said, adding that she is suspected to be with her mother's maternal family. Inspector Kumar said that while the full details of the attack inside the apartment are yet to be established, family members have alleged a history of domestic violence. “The family of the injured woman said that the husband had been violent during their marriage, often attacking her mercilessly over petty arguments,” Kumar said, adding that the reasons for the arrest of the accused would be revealed only after the accused were arrested. can be detected.

After Meenakshi was admitted for treatment, the hospital administration reported the incident to the police.
